Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken drastic measures in the wake of the team's five-wicket final loss against India in the Asia Cup 2025 Trophy on September 28 in Dubai. Notably, the Men In Green lost three times to arch-rivals in the Continental Cup, exposing the team's frailties. However, PCB has decided not to provide no-objection certificates to their players, which allows them to participate in the T20 leagues across the globe.
According to the ESPNCricinfo report, PCB has temporarily put a hold on NOCs with the decision being taken after their loss against India in the Asia Cup final. A notice from PCB chief of operations Sumair Ahmed Syed communicated to players and their agents about this decision, which does not allow them to participate in the T20 leagues for the time period.

"With the approval of Chairman PCB, all No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for players with respect to participation in leagues and other out-of-country tournaments are hereby put on hold until further orders," read the notice, mentioning under-fire PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi.
Shaheen Afridi & Babar Azam most affected by PCB's decision
Notably, Shaheen Afridi and Babar Azam are the two players who are affected by the PCB's verdict. Both players are among the 16 Pakistani players to have signed up for the ILT20 auction. The move might be an attempt to copy BCCI, who doesn't give NOCs to players to play other T20 leagues apart from playing IPL and other domestic tournaments, which has established a vast talent pool in the Indian Team.

However, post-retirement, BCCI has allowed Indian players to play other T20 leagues. Ravi Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, and Piyush Chawla are the players featuring in different T20 leagues apart from playing IPL.
